"Mr. Smith, I'm very sorry, but you have cancer." Words such as these are said to literally thousands of people every day in the United States alone. The emotions that follow, the chance of survival, the treatment plans all differ based on many factors, but the universal question is the same for all - "how do I get rid of this?"
Cancer in the body of the church is unfortunately not looked at the same way. We don't see it as a deadly disease that must be treated and healed, or completely cut out, in order to save the body from certain death. We often compartmentalize the issue, laugh it off, make excuses...things we absolutely never do with cancer in our own body.
Jesus, in His revelation to John, dictates a letter to the church at Thyatira, where He is warning them of this very kind of cancer that has invaded, and has diseased the body of their church. They MUST take immediate action, or destruction will follow. Jesus takes a cancer diagnosis in His beloved bride, very, very seriously...and so must we.
Join Pastor Jason as he tackles an oft disregarded, and always delicate topic of church discipline, using the next church in our study of Revelation, Thyatira, as the model for an urgent warning to the church today.

Today Pastor Jason continued his look at the churches written to in the Revelation of John. Today's church is the church at Pergamum. Although the church as a whole was holding strong, there were some who were compromising what they believed, giving into temptation, lacking the self-control that is ours in Jesus.
Pastor Jason once again, outlines the church described in Revelation and then applies it to us individually, and the church as a whole. Just as some in Pergamum gave into sin, we too can slide, or boldly walk into indulging our sinful desires. Pastor Jason tells us some things to look out for in order to keep our guard up, and how we can rest in Christ as the one that has already won the battles we wrestle with.

Today Pastor Jason continues to look at the seven churches addressed in Revelation, turning his focus to the church at Smyrna, and the persecution they found themselves under as the jumping off point to speak to the state of the church today. Persecution can come from multiple sources and for multiple reasons. In fact as Christians and as a Christ following, Biblical church, persecution is almost assured. Jesus warned us about this. But what do we do with it?
We are not called to hide away, put up barriers, lock ourselves in the basement to hope we can withstand as persecution passes by. No, God has purpose in everything, including persecution for His church and His children. Join Pastor Jason as he outlines the purposes for persecution and the Glory that even persecution can bring to God!

Today Pastor Jason started a quick dive into the book of Revelation. Revelation is one of the most unique books in the Bible. John, under inspiration tells us that we should read this prophecy, that we should know this prophecy, and pronounces blessing on those that read, understand, and take the words of this prophecy to heart. It almost seems like we should...do that!
Pastor Jason starts as the book does, with the letters to the seven churches. These are churches that existed in the past, but they're also letters to churches that exist today. The words of praise, warning, and condemnation apply as much to churches today as they did back then, so we should understand what was being said and act accordingly.
Join us as we step into Revelation, starting with the letter to the church at Ephesus!

Christians throughout history have experienced periods of peaceful existence wedged into an overall existence of persecution and oppression. We were never promised our "best life now" as many health, wealth, and prosperity preachers contort the Bible to say, in fact quite the opposite. Jesus promised us that the world would hate us, because it hates Him. Even today we see areas of extreme persecution, areas of relatively peaceful existence, and areas we clearly observe shifting sands of change.
True believers aren't focused on the here and now. Yes, we are to be lights in this world, to be in the world but not like the world, we are commanded to GO and TELL, but this is not our home - we are strangers in a strange land. Our home, our destination is Heaven. And as if a life in the full presence of our Savior, in Paradise isn't enough, we have been promised "rewards"..."crowns" based on how we lived our lives on this spinning, celestial ball. And, as if it could possibly get better than that...it does! We will take the crowns we've earned while on earth and lay them at the feet of the very one that laid down His life for us. How...amazing...is...that??
Join Pastor Jason as he looks ahead, looks to our eternal home, and specifically to the crowns that have been promised to us for a life of worship and obedience to our God and Savior!
